Since 2008, Coming Out works for universal recognition of human dignity and equal rights of all regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Our work is possible thanks to the support of international human rights funders, selfless work of dozens of volunteers, as well as private sponsorship from people all over the world who believe that human rights, including LGBT rights, are a universal value.
Today, Coming Out, other LGBT organizations, and LGBT citizens of Russia are facing increased pressures and growing homophobic aggression, discrimination, and violence. Aside from the psychological pressure and stress that the LGBT community now faces, aggression and violence from nationalist, radical Orthodox and other groups is on the rise. LGBT are not considered by the courts as a social group; as a consequence, crimes against LGBT people are not qualified as hate crimes or investigated properly, and violence is often done with impunity.
You can help “Coming Out” to continue our work in St. Petersburg – providing free of charge psychological and legal counseling for LGBTQ people, raising awareness of society about LGBT human rights, publishing brochures and books on coming out, feminism, transsexuality, peer-to-peer support groups for LGBTQ people who are or plan to be parents, running a community center and much more.
Thank you for your solidarity!

The program LGBT Parents consists of meetings and workshops for LGBT parents and others who are interested in the topic, where issues of reproduction, adoption and parenting are discussed. The program provides a platform for professional, psychological, and peer-to-peer support.
